My Town

My Town

Written, Choreographed, and Performed by Jack Ferver
Scenic, Music, Costume and Video Design by Jeremy Jacob
Management: Garen Scribner, Pilot MGMT
Memory and fantasy flicker in tarnished grayscale: empty windows yawn in quaint, boxy houses, dense forests give way to dark rivers and star-riddled skies, the pupil of an enormous eye becomes a full moon, flowers fall on a sexual awakening, a cigarette smolders in wait. Jacob’s purposeful cadences of silence and stillness lend depth to frenzied fugues and dreamlike departures—far more than a backdrop, these images fill the otherwise empty stage.
— Sarah Cecilia Bukowski, The Dance Enthusiast
With the immersive, shape-shifting multimedia of Jeremy Jacob serving as both atmospheric veil and psychic amplifier, Ferver offers a queer reimagining of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town that treats the mythos of small-town Americana not as sentimental refuge but as a site of exquisite strangeness.
— Tony Marinelli, Theater Beyond Broadway
